Study Requirements - Diabetes #1

• Male or female, 18 years of age or older
• Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes
• Currently treated with a stable dose of Metformin alone (at least 1500 mg) or Metformin + Pioglitazone (Actos)
• No history of type 1 diabetes
• No previous insulin usage
• No usage of any other anti-diabetic medication for the past 3 months
• Not currently participating in or cannot have participated in any other clinical research study in the past 30 days

Study Requirements - Diabetes #2

• Male or female, 18 years of age or older
• Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes
• Currently treated with up to 3 diabetic medications
• No history of type 1 diabetes
• No gastrointestinal surgery
• If on insulin can only be taking alone or with metformin
• Must have history of cardiovascular disease
• Not currently participating in or cannot have participated in any other clinical research study in the past 30 days

Study Requirements -Obesity

• Male or female, 18 years of age or older
• Must have BMI greater than 30 (can be between 27 - 29 if you have history of high blood pressure or high cholesterol
• Tried diets and exercise in the past with no success
• No history of diabetes
• No history of any weight loss surgery (except liposuction)
• No usage of any weight loss medication in the past 3 months (including herbal or over the counter medications)
• Not currently participating in or cannot have participated in any other clinical research study in the past 30 days

Study Requirements -Congestive Heart Failure

• Male or female, 18 years of age or older
• Diagnosis of Congestive Heart Failure
• Must be currently taking medications to treat your conditions
• No gastrointestinal surgery
• No major cardiovascular event in the past 3 months
• Not currently participating in or cannot have participated in any other clinical research study in the past 30 days
